The grand Darwin Mountain Range looking North from about 10 miles
across the Beagle Channel.
Photo from the entrance of Volier Harbor just after a snowfall in early
May.
Untouched and practically unused by navigators, Volier makes a "dog-leg"
turn to the West leading the boat to anchor near the end of a canyon formed
by a two mountains running parallel to the Beagle Channel.
The majestic Darwin Mountains , which are the re-emerging of the Andes,
rise amidst an exuberant and vigorous vegetation.
Here glaciers, lagoons, rivers and streams contrast with the tranquil waters
of the Beagle Channel.

Beautiful Voilier Harbour hangs above the still waters like "Japanese
Gardens"with Autumn colours .
Note that the trees are all growing straight due to the almost total protection
from wind.
So different from Pia Fjord, but just a few miles across the Beagle Channel.
