How to find God

I want to present Jesus to you because I have seen him with my own eyes and touched him with my own hands.

We saw Him with our own eyes and touched Him with our own hands. - 1 John 1:1 NLT

You may not know it or even want it, but you need it nonetheless.

And what is it you need? Christ!

"We saw Him with our own eyes and touched Him with our own hands...now we testify...to you that He is the one" (1 Jn 1:1-2 NLT).

But before you will be attracted to Christ you must first see Him working in my life.

After all, if the shoes I'm wearing don't look very comfortable, why would you want to put them on?

After Saul of Tarsus' life-changing encounter on the Damascus Road, God told him, "I have appeared to you to appoint you as My servant and My witness...tell the world about this experience" (Acts 26:16 TLB).

Understand this: every experience I've had with God has had one purpose - to make me His "servant" and His "witness."

I'll never win people to Christ if all they hear coming out of my mouth is: 'what's wrong' with the church, preachers, and Christians, etc.

The church is a hospital where Jesus, the Great Physician, makes wounded people whole. And while some in the church are doing well, others are in critical care.

Properly understood and presented this should draw people, not drive them away.

To be His servant and His witness, to introduce you to Christ, the One I've seen with my own eyes and touched with my own hands - and He will do the rest!

1. You Have A Problem

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8.

The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23.

We will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Romans 14:10-12.

Whoever puts faith in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see that life, for God's wrath remains on him. John 3:36.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men. Romans 1:18.

2. You Cannot Solve The Problem
A man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. If righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! Galatians 2:16, 21.

God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8.

Jesus said: I am the way . . . no-one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6.

Salvation is found in no-one else; for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.

It is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no-one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9.

3. God Has Solved The Problem
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10.

When the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. Titus 3:4-5.

Christ died for your sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. 1 Peter 3:18.

The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23.

4. Your Problem Is Solved For Ever

Jesus said: Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24.

In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins. Ephesians     1:7.

Jesus lives for ever . . . therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:24-25.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

He is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy.
Jude 24.

Therefore Turn from sin.

God commands all people everywhere to repent. Acts 17:30.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out. Acts 3:19.

Trust in Christ

Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. Acts 16:31.

Jesus said: Stop doubting and believe . . . Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. John 20:27, 29.

Whoever puts his faith in the Son has eternal life. John 3:36.

Acknowledge Christ before men

If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.

Jesus Christ has removed every barrier that stood between you and God except one -- you must receive the pardon He   purchased for you by an act of your will. You see, a pardon is not a pardon until it is received. There is a pardon with your name on it in heaven, but you must receive it to make it valid.

It is not a matter of how good you are -- or even how bad you are. The issue is, will you talk to God and tell him you receive the pardon he purchased for you. He wants you to come just as you are and confess that you can never be good enough for Him to accept.

YOU can change your eternal destiny right now. Wherever you are, just bow your head and tell God you receive His   pardon for your sins. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and begin to give you a new heart with new desires. He will come into your life and bring a new power and motivation for living you never dreamed possible.

Jesus gave us this invitation, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20) The door represents your will.

What do you think was and is wrong? You must realize that the Bible is taken by faith and that Jesus is the originator and finisher of our faith. I am sorry to say it, but you should be around your negative friends as little as possible until you get stronger and are completely renewed by God. Then you can win their souls.

When I was in a similar situation of despair as you are, Jesus took me out of it when I fully committed my life to him, and has blessed me ever since.
In spite of having the bends, with God's help, I have built a 75 ft schooner, gotten married to a good Christian woman, had 3 more nice children (the doctors said I probably would not be able to have children after the accident), Pastored the Foursquare Church of Puerto Williams, built a house, a hostal, a cyber cafe, a mini market, a travel agency and sent Grace to the USA to study.
These projects are all doing well, with God's blessing; the Father Son and the Holy Spirit. God also saved me from prostate cancer, shipwrecks several times, being unconscious at 120 ft below the surface, etc, etc.

Take an example from my life. You know that I spent almost as many years as you (or maybe more than you) wasting my life until May 1975 when I gave my lie to Jesus. (I was 41) I kneeled in Helen’s Garrett's (my mothers) living room and said a prayer like the one that follows. It completely changed my course! I was bankrupt morally and physically. Just like you are right now. It’s guaranteed to change your life also, without doubt! All you need is the faith of which Satan has robbed you. Try it, you’ll like it.

I have now gone through 3 bankruptcies. We were at the point of losing everything. Just like you are going through right now. God always did a miracle and brought me out of the problems with bells and whistles.
Those are only a few of the dozens of miracles that Jesus has done since then.
Now, even though I have an impediment, I have sailed as captain of the S/V VICTORY to Cape Horn a dozen times. :-).

All this was not from my doing anything or my physical attributes, or my strength, or my luck, or my mental prowess, or nothing I did. It is and was ALL Jesus doing!

The only way you will ever know is to try it. Then, and only then you will feel Jesus’ power come over you to give you the will power, the strength and the force to do anything you want. You will have for your father, the creator of the universe. What could be too hard for the best physicist, best mathematician, best philosopher, best chemist, best astronomer, best mechanic, best medical doctor, best healer, best biologist, and the most kind, most wonderful, most merciful, most sacrificing, most loving person in the world? Why would he not help you, if you asked him? It’s not because of your sins as everyone is a sinner. Jesus forgives murderers, robbers, fornicators, adulterers, liars and cheats.

The Lord Jesus Christ is knocking at the door of your heart right now. Just invite Him in and receive the gift of the pardon, that He gave His life to give you. Then thank Him for the pardon and for keeping His Word.

Pray this "Prayer for Life", mean it, and YOU will be SAVED, right where you're sitting.
PRAY "LORD: I here and now REPENT and BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
I believe you died for ME, as MY Substitute, and rose from the dead according to the Scriptures.
Lord Jesus, thank you for taking my place, and paying MY debt in full. I believed that the slate is erased clean and my sins are now as white as snow. Even though I was separated from You by my sins, You saw me, helpless, and fallen, and loved me enough to die for me. You were innocent. You did no wrong. I'm the one who has sinned; I broke God's Law. I deserve to die for my sins, but You took my place on the Cross. I BELIEVE that You suffered the penalty of MY sins, and You paid the full price to clear my debt. Your Precious Blood has paid for all of my sins.

Because You suffered MY penalty, I am free. Now no sin remains to condemn me. I'm no longer guilty before God. I can never be judged or condemned for my sins because they were judged in You, Lord. I ask Your forgiveness, and I now RECEIVE You into my heart.
I am a new creation in you; Christ and I know you will gradually, over time, heal my life and my spirit completely. I will be a new creature in you.
I TRUST that You did ENOUGH for me. You paid it all. No further price needs ever to be paid.

I will never make any effort, or claim any merit, or offer any good works, pay any price, as long as I live to try to pay for my sins that you have already paid for. Your Blood cleanses me now. I am forgiven now. I am saved now.
Help me to follow you, and to share this wonderful news with everyone.

Now you have the full anointing of the Holy Spirit to work in your life, to help you to be able to understand the word of God. John 14 :15. The word is discerned spiritually, not carnally.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6
This is why one can study the Bible, but not understand it and learn its true meaning, before they say the prayer above which lets the Holy Spirit take over your life and guide you.

Have faith and you can do anything without limits. You are free now from Satans power by the blood of Jesus. When he bothers you tell him to go away by the blood and name of Jesus!! He will go and has to go if you stand firm!

Memorize the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23. They will help you in times of spiritual need.
