Sailboat KSAR is a 12-meter ketch, built in steel, in the Meta France shipyard in 1975. His class JOSHUA was specially designed and prepared to sail in the South Atlantic and Antarctica. His qualities of strong and safe boat were tested through 30 years of sailing in different parts of the world and especially Patagonia.
With KSAR you can browse the southern channels and Cape Horn aboard a Joshua. The desig comes from the mythical twin ship used by B. Mottessier for a solo circumnavigation, turning Cape Horn.
Inside, the finishes in wood and bronze, give comfort to passengers, a kitchen, comfortable lounge, bathroom with hot shower, heating, a rich library and a large navigation table. Its NANNI 60 horsepower diesel engine gives you a safe seven knots speed and a range of 600 miles. The KSAR is equipped with autopilot, GPS, Radar, VHF and HF radio, echo sounder, WeatherFax and a 12 V and 220 V Genset. It also has a dinghy with outboard motor, life raft, plus all the elements for maximum security required by the maritime authorities.
